About Sid

Sid, a multi-instrumentalist, singer, rapper, composer, poet, band leader, instructor and producer, resides in the Delridge District of West Seattle. He publishes his work under his own label, Delridge Music, via ASCAP. He has over a dozen CDs to his credit as a performer, composer and producer. His lyrical, vocal and instrumental abilities have been featured in films, radio and TV — both here and abroad.

As a composer of great stylistic range, Sid writes music for multiple applications and artists, including special events, film and video, as well as his specialty — “artvertisements” — where he magically weaves business names into the fabric of his art so as to enhance the music value instead of compromising it.

As a singer, rapper, guitarist and band leader, Sid enjoys exporting his unique music to the rest of the country, with notable club gigs at the Whiskey a Go Go in Los Angeles, and music festivals such as SXSW in Austin, the Cutting Edge Music Festival in New Orleans and the Midpoint Music Festival in Cincinnati.

Early in his career, he founded the critically acclaimed pop/rock band The Day I Fell Down, and put out two CDs in the late ’90s and signed with Samson Records out of Omaha, Nebraska.

As a professional drummer, Sid has logged in over 100 public performances of classic rock, jazz and gospel.

As a guitarist, Sid’s range and reading ability blends in effortlessly to studio recording where he can lay down virtually all styles, acoustically or electrically.

Sid also performs as a one-man band, playing drums with his feet, guitar with his hands, and singing or rapping simultaneously. With this configuration, he performs both originals and covers of familiar tunes.

Sid is also an experienced classical singer, most notably as a baritone with the world-class renaissance choral group The Tudor Choir (tudorchoir.org) and as a tenor, accumulating over 40 lead roles in opera, oratorio and performing new works over the past 15 years. As a young tenor, he won three state NATS competitions while attending the University of Iowa.

A serious poet, Sid writes all his own lyrics, raps, and has completed four books of poetry.

Sid loves to travel (preferably by car, logging long hours on the highway) and has lived in Memphis, New Orleans, New York City, Italy, and Iowa City, Iowa, the town in which he was born and raised. Every year he makes a pilgrimage to the southern states to get a soul infusion, which imbues all the musical works Sid creates.

Lastly, Sid is the proud father of two boys, Wilder and Brando.
